ABOUT SDI

Sunni Dawate Islami is an international, non-political and purely religious movement. It promotes the propagation of the true beliefs of Islam under the teaching of the true sect of Ahle Sunnah Wa Jama’ah.

Through encouraging the blessed Sunnahs of the Beloved Messenger (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) it aims to light the beacon of love, admiration and affection of the Beloved Messenger (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) in the hearts of each believer, and through this it endeavors to perfect the body, soul and mind by molding each Muslim’s life according to the Qur’an and Sunnah.

The sole purpose of Sunni Dawate Islami is to motivate each believer to become a true believer; inspiring them to remain steadfast in fulfilling the commands of Allah Almighty and to shine as a true respectful and humble devotee to the Beloved Messenger (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) and thus helping them to graciously adhere to the blessed life and Sunnahs of the Beloved Messenger (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) which is the best example to emulate.

Glory to Allah, this Islamic propagation movement is growing significantly.

It originated in Mumbai (India) under the leadership of his excellence Hazrat Moulana Mohammed Shakir Noori Saheb, and now through the grace of Allah and His beloveds this movement is continuously expanding in various parts of the world, under the guidance of the scholars of Ahle Sunnah wa Jama’ah, it is already prominent in countries like India, United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Africa, Portugal and Saudi Arabia. InshaAllah SDI aims to spread and help Muslims in other countries too.

Annual International Congregation (Ijtema)
Praise to Allah Almighty, each year Sunni Dawate Islami organizes an annual international ijtema which is held in Mumbai at Azad Maidaan, thousands of Muslims around the world attend this unique event. It is also held annually in the UK during the summer which also receives an immense turnout. Large number of Ulemas (Islamic scholars), renowned personalities, mubalighs and fellow Muslims attend these congregations, there is also a special day reserved for the Muslim Sisters to attend and gain knowledge in a strict segregated environment.

Weekly Congregation (Ijtema)
Weekly congregations are held in Mumbai at Ismail Habib Masjid, every Saturday after Isha Prayer. There are also frequent ijtemas (congregations) around the countries mentioned above. (Please see contact list of head offices in various countries for details about ijtemas organized in your area).

Ijtemas are also held for Islamic Sisters, from which numerous sisters have gained invaluable amount of knowledge and improved their lives immensely to the Sunnah and will InshaAllah continue to do so.

Following the Sunnah
All Islamic Brothers (Mubalighs) of Sunni Dawate Islami are seen wearing a unified dress code, i.e. white garment (kurta shalwar) with white amama (turban) which is in accordance to the Sunnah of the Beloved Messenger (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him).

Educational Visits (Dawra)
The most important aspect of Sunni Dawate Islami is the Islamic Educational Visits (Dawra). The Islamic Brothers (Mubalighs) visit other towns, where they share, learn and teach the Sunnah of the Beloved Messenger (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) to other brothers in Islam. Many brothers participate in these visits every month. These visits also traverse to foreign countries so that the message of Qur’an and Sunnah of the Beloved Messenger (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) is propagated throughout the world.

SDI Publications
Apart from propagating the religion of the Holy Prophet (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) through Speeches, Sunni Dawate Islami is actively engaged in publishing books and has so far published more than ten books which has been simultaneously translated into many languages.

Barkaat-e-Shariat Part 1, Part2 and Part 3
Barkaat-e-Shariat is one of the comprehensive books written on the Sunnah of the Beloved Messenger (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) and the rules and regulations of Islam. The teaching from this book is given in Mosques in many countries around the world. The book has been extremely successful with the masses and has been already translated into several languages. Al’hamdulillah people around the world gain endless amount of knowledge and guidance, on how to live according to the Sunnah of the Beloved Messenger (Mercy and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him).

Sunni Dawate Islami Online
This site provides ample amount of information and guidance on Islam through the correct teaching of Ahle Sunnah Wa Jama’ah. It provides an update of activities carried out by the organization. You can also listen to Naats and speeches on this site. Emailing facility is also available if you wish to correspond to the organization.

Maktab-e-Taibah
We also have a mobile stall where we stock books, audio/CD speeches in English and Urdu, Naats, Qiraats are also available, along with items like miswaks, Itr (perfume oil), stickers, pens and much more.
